Konopie od wielu wieków były obecne w codziennym życiu ludzi. Stosowano je podczas rytualnych obrzędów religijnych, w medycynie, dla relaksu oraz wytwarzano z nich wiele użytecznych rzeczy, jak np. papier, tkaniny i sznury. Konopie przyjmowano w wielu różnych formach, które w dzisiejszych czasach z różnych względów nie są popularne poza miejscami skąd pochodzą. Dziś o jednej z takich form, a mianowicie o Bhang (Hindi: भांग).
Bardzo trudno mi było jednoznacznie stwierdzić czym jest Bhang, ponieważ pod tą jedna nazwą kryje się wiele postaci tego produktu. Myślę jednak, że najlepiej określić Bhang jako środek halucynogenny przygotowywany ze świeżych liści i kwiatów konopi, który później można przerobić na kolejne formy również określane mianem Bhang. Aby rozróżnić o jaką postać chodzi, dodaje się min. określenie "napój", "pasta" lub "kulki". Najbardziej popularnym jest napój Bhang, który powstaje poprzez dodanie do pierwotnej formy mleko i inne dodatki. Ze względu na popularność tej formy Bhang często pomija się określenie "napój" i nazywa się ją po prostu Bhang, mając na myśli jednak nie pierwotny środek halcynogenny, tylko już jego przetworzoną postać. Z tego powodu powstają nieścisłości w określeniu czym on tak naprawdę jest.
W Indiach napój Bhang jest jednym z najpowrzechniejszych sposobów spożywania konopi indyjskich i od wieków pozostaje integralną częścią kultury kraju, jest bowiem silnie powiązany z jedną z nastarszych i najważniejszych religii w Indiach – hinduizmem. Z tego powodu używany jest podczas wielu religijnych rytuałów. Jeden z głównych bogów – Shiva uważany jest za boga konopi indyjskich i nosi tytuł "pana z Bhang". Uważa się, że pije on napój z konopi, aby wzmocnić swoje moce. Konsumpcja Bhang jest uważana za sposób oddawania czci Shivie. Na temat pochodzenia Bhang jest wiele mitów. Pierwszego dnia (Holika Dahan) świętujący skupiają się na spaleniu diabła (Holika) na ognisku, drugi dzień (Dhulandi) jest festiwalem kolorów. Jestem pewna, że wiele osób spotkało się z tą nazwą, a może ma nawet jakieś kolorowe wspomnienia z nią związane :) Pare lat temu bowiem festiwal kolorów zagościł w Polsce i został na tyle miło przyjęty, że tak jak oryginalne hinduskie święto, odbywa się co roku. Osobiście bardzo się cieszę, że u nas w kraju możemy mieć namiastkę tego święta i wspólnie bawić się i cieszyć.
Bhang jest również wszechobecny w tradycyjnej indyjskiej medycynie. Wierzy się, że odpowiednio dawkowany zmniejsza gorączkę, leczy czerwonkę (ostrą chorobę zakaźną jelit), udar, rozrzedza flegmę, wspomaga trawienie, apetyt, niweluje zburzenia mowy i seplenienie. Podczas rytuałów Ayurvedic i Tibbi Bhang był podawany w celu leczenia malarii i reumatyzmu. Uważano również, że wojownicy powinni go pić, aby wzmocnić swoje nerwy, a nowożeńcy, aby pobudzić libido.
Czy Bhang jest legalny? Tak, konwencja z 1961 roku, która postawiła konopie obok twardych narkotyków i zdelegalizowała ich używanie w Indiach ominęła go i wciąż jest legalny na niektórych obszarach ze wspomnianych wcześniej powodów religijnych i kulturowych. Bhang miesza się również z indyjskim masłem ghi i cukrem w celu otrzymania fioletowej hałwy oraz pieprznych, ciągliwych małych kulek o nazwie goli (co w Hindi znaczy "pocisk", "pigułka").
Jeśli masz ohotę przeżyć przygodę i spróbować Bhang, wybierz się do Indii na festiwal Holi. Mimo, że legalnie można go kupić tylko w rządowych sklepach, nie trudno go znaleźć podczas tego festiwalu. Jeśli jednak wybierasz się do Indii w innym terminie, ale wciąż masz ochotę spróbować tradycyjnego Bhang, udaj się do oficjalnych licencjonowanych rządowych sklepów. Nie będąc znawcą Bhang lepiej unikać ulicznych sprzedawców i niesprawdzonych źródeł, aby nie natknąć się na inną substancję, która może poważnie ci zaszkodzić. Należy również pamiętać, że dostępny Bhang ma różną moc działania. Jeśli jest to twoje pierwsze doświadczenie, na początek wybierz słabszą wersję, inaczej mogą cię dopaść silne skutki uboczne i stężenie THC zapewni ci nienajlepszą przygodę. Dla niedoświadczonych osób, które nie mają zbudowanej tolerancji na THC Bhang może mieć dużo silniejsze działanie niż dla kogoś, kto spożywa go już któryś raz.
Jako dodatek do tematu wstawiam jeden z dostępnych przepisów na napój Bhang. Przetłumaczyłam go ze strony leafly.com. Dodaje go tutaj tylko i wyłącznie dlatego, że zaciekawiło mnie, jak dokładnie powstaje ten napój. A skoro mnie zaciekawiło, to kogoś również może :) Absolutnie nie dodaje go, aby zachęcać kogokolwiek do robienia Bhang w Polsce! Przypominam, że tutaj konopie indyjskie są nielegalne (na konopie siewne trzeba mieć pozwolenie).
Składniki:
• 2 szklanki wody
• do 0,5 uncji świeżych liści i kwiatów konopnych
• 3 szklanki ciepłego mleka
• ¼ łyżeczki garam masali
• ¼ łyżeczki zmielonego imbiru
• ¼ łyżeczki kopru włoskiego
• ½ łyżeczki anyżu
• ½ łyżeczki kardamonu
• ½ łyżeczki wody różanej
• ½ szklanki miodu lub cukru
• płatki róż, liście mięty, posiekane migdały i pistacje
Sposób przygotowania:
1. Zagotuj wodę aż zacznie gwałtownie wrzeć, wyłącz ją i dodaj materiał konopny. Parz około 7 minut.
2. Odcedź liście i kwiaty z wody używając do tego płóciennej gazy. Ściskaj materiał roślinny aż wyciśniesz całą ciecz. Zbierz ją i odłóż na bok.
3. Umieść liście i kwiaty w moździerzu i rozcieraj z 2 łyżeczkami ciepłego mleka. Miel powoli lecz mocno, następnie wyciśnij kwiaty aby oddzielnić od nich mleko. Powtarzaj proces, do momentu aż uzyskasz ½ szklanki mleka. Odstaw mleko na bok.
4. Dodaj posiekane migdały, pistacje, płatki róż, liście mięty do moździerza dolewając niewielką porcję ciepłego mleka. Ucieraj do momentu uzyskania gęstej pasty. Wyjmij z pasty wszelkie pozostałości po dodanych składnikach.
5. Zmieszaj wszystko razem, dodaj garam masale, imbir, koper włoski, anyż, kardamon i wodę różaną. Do nie użytego jeszcze mleka dodaj miód lub cukier.
6. Mieszaj, podaj, pij i ciesz się powstałym napojem :)
